The Appeal of the "Ugly Face"

Lately I've been completely enamoured with any series where the artstyle dramatically changes the mc from normal to ugly face. The impact is just hilarious. Whenever I see it used in the beginning of a series I instantly get that "struck gold" feeling and can read on with confidence I will die a little inside from the pristine over the top humour to come. The only series I've seen it used in recently though are "Miss Not So Sidekick" and "Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell."
Anyone else feel that pang through the soul when you see the ridiculous contrast in artstyle calling rise for your depravity to bubble forth?
Just me maybe
