Book Series Recs

Postby Tohru » Sun Oct 31, 2021 2:25 pm

Any regular book series recs? I'll be looking forward to my peaceful free time for winter break (wraith don't look) and need some reading material options, but might as well turn this into a general thread.
Do you guys read any regular book series?

Stuff I really enjoy/ed:

The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan
(completed, 20 books)

The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
(currently 4 books + 2 books that are in universe edited, author plans to do 10)

Vlad Taltos Collections by Steven Brust
(completed, 19 books, but there are more books that are in the same universe and mention the characters you already know, just centring about someone else)

Chronicles of the Black Company by Glen Cook
(10 books, no word on how many more the author plans to compose)

The Legend of Drizzt by R. A. Salvatore
(completed, 34 books with possibly more for that universe.)

The Cleric Quintet by R. A. Salvatore
(completed, 5 books)

The Sellswords by R. A. Salvatore
(completed, 3 books)

Brimstone Angels by Erin M. Evans
(completed, 6 books)

The Firekeeper Saga by Jane Lindskold
(8 books so far, further novels tba)

The Black Dawn by Joseph D'Lacey
(completed, 2 books)

The Prince of Nothing by R. Scott Bakker
(completed, 3 books)

The Aspect Emperor by R. Scott Bakker
(completed, 4 books)

First off, pog another Taltos enjoyer.

Ursula K LeGuin - The Left Hand of Darkness
Barry B Longyear - Enemy Mine
Martha Wells - The Murderbot Diaries (series)
Jim Butcher - Dresden Files and Codex Alera
Susanna Clarke - Piranesi
Rebecca Roanhorse - Black Sun
Patrick Rothfuss - The King Killer Chronicles (first book is Name of the Wind)
Give David Weber a try too. Lots of good fun scifi there if his writing style clicks for you, but it doesn't for everyone.
