Sprite, Chapter 61 (RAW SUPPLIER NEEDED!)

Postby Wraith » Tue May 17, 2016 12:11 pm

Until we find a new source of high-quality raws, this may be the last you see of this series, so be sure to enjoy it: TT TT

Chapter 61

Mediafire|Reader

It is also available via Batoto and IRC and can be downloaded from the reader, too.

We also need a redrawer for Deathtopia! Please apply!

How much are the volumes? I might be willing to contribute to assist re-purchase.

Ah, thanks, but the problem is scanning. We need someone who is reliable, has access to a scanner and knows how to debind a volume properly and generate high-resolution scans. While I did say that we wouldn't love to buy a volume again, if we get someone to generate the raws, I can grit my teeth and foot the bill. A volume costs just about nine dollars plus delivery (in the US).

Like, any scanner? Or an industrial scanner like the ones in printing shops?

A domestic scanner that can generate a 600 dpi, 16-bit Black & White picture. And the person must know how to disassemble a volume, separating the pages from each other without damaging them. I believe there are tutorials for scanning manga in the Internet. Ah, yes, the pic must be saved by the scanner as a TIFF.

I'll check my scanner when I get home and see if it's capable. If it is, I'll learn book disassembly and do a trial run with something I've got kicking around.

Thanks for the enthusiasm. These specs generate raws about 900 MB per chapter, just so you know. Of course, if you do succeed and remain intent on doing it, we can discuss details, including your joining us as a team member with all the perquisites, including our storage cloud.

I pay for a terabyte of Dropbox, and have plenty of physical storage, internal and external. Time is more of an issue for me than storage or data transfer, but first I gotta make sure my equipment can generate the scans properly. I'm reading the PDF manual for it now, but going to have to get back to work pretty soon.

So hair-dryer disassembly is easy, but my scanning software doesn't go over 300 dpi (Windows 10 package scanner). Got any suggestion for a software download?

What are your scanner brand and model? If the hardware can do it, the proprietary software of the supplier should work…
