Re: Typesetting Test and Proofreading (maybe?)

The Head Typesetter is still asleep in his time zone, so I'll ask him to assess your test later… if you still want us to do it. The reason I ask for confirmation is that Hi wa mata noboru, another group, has just released the entire first volume of Zankyou . We can't compete understaffed as we are, ...

Re: Typesetting Test and Proofreading (maybe?)

In the character options tab in PS, there's a drop-down box with anti-aliasing options. Typesetting is usually done at Smooth, with very few exceptions.

As for Stroke… there isn't much to explain, just use white stroke a couple of pixels wide instead of outer glow :)

Re: Typesetting Test and Proofreading (maybe?)

Hi, CadmeanVixen, nice to make your acquaintance and thanks for applying! As you said, you are rusty. So our Head Typesetter took a good look at the test and while you don't pass, the good news is that he had nothing to say about your shaping, sizing, word breaking and font choice. So you still have...

Re: Typesetter Test

Hi, AmineKudo, thanks for the interest, but we're not recruiting for Suicide Island . We have a typesetter who normally turns the chapter in in under two days. Since you only want to work on SI, I won't trouble our Head Typesetter or make you wait for nothing, so your test won't be graded. And becau...

Re: Cleaner Test

Hi, Leviathan! I got your message and have already sent it for our Head Cleaner. I was impressed by how much you have improved since the last application. We'd say that you're not far from passing, so here's your assessment. In general terms, you need to improve your Dusting, not of white specks in ...

Re: Cleaner - KeenShibe

The filter I used is Topaz denoise 5 on 0.25 strength. Is it advisable to use unsharp mask before/after to counteract the blurriness? That's a possibility. You have to try and see how it looks. Pay attention to areas of detailed art and see what happens when you manipulate the picture. If you begin...

Re: Cleaner - KeenShibe

Hi, Keenshibe, So, your pages 1 and 2 are now pre-merged properly, and the levelling also improved. However, there's no need to remove the granular pattern of the art . That's not dust, it's the artist's choice. I don't know which filter you used, but you can see it made the background areas blurry....

Re: Cleaner - KeenShibe

That was quick… and maybe you ought to have done things more calmly, because though there was improvement, it still needs significant improvement to earn a pass. - You merged 1 and 2, but it is still overfiltered and overlevelled. You can see the loss of patterns in the leather glove at the bottom l...

Re: Cleaner - KeenShibe

Hi, KeenShibe, thanks for applying. Unfortunately, we're unable to pass you at the current skill level. The problem is your excessive reliance on filtering. You went pedal to the metal on Topaz Denoise (or something like that) to smoothen away the Dust in the pages. On page 4, that was so extreme th...

Re: Cleaner Test

I'm sorry, I wrote "you pass", but you may have guessed I forgot the "don't" TT TT
